Age 16+. This course centers the experiences of African Americans as we spend time with stories, movies and written personal accounts. This month: The Practice of Freedom.
ABOUT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES SERIES:
We discuss and explore the Civil Rights and Black Power movements in the United States. We also examine how the African American community once again transformed and shifted to remembrance and witness through artistic expression that uplifted racial pride, economic empowerment, and the creation of political and cultural institutions within Black communities as we continue to question, “what needs to be done now?"
